Precision Vineyard Irrigation was established in 2005 by Mark Mileti. Mark received a Bachelors Degree in Crop Science from California Polytechnic State University in 1977. He has been a winemaker since 1987 and has been designing, installing and servicing irrigation systems in California since 1978. He installed the first ET based irrigation controller on the Monterey Penninsula in 2004 for a landscape application.

After reviewing recent research done at the University of California Davis, Kearney Agricultural Center, California Polytechnic State University San Luis Obispo and California State University Fresno in California, he developed a computer model to facilitate the scheduling of a version of deficit threshold irrigation specifically for wine grapes in California.

Precision Vineyard Irrigation offers custom schedules on an annual subscription basis to vineyards throughout the state of California.
